If you are running rich, it'll burn more fuel and won't foul as easily. Chances are, though, that if your bike is stock, you are running lean. Suzuki adjusts them WAY lean to get past the emissions requirements. This, by the way, is what makes them backfire (although I can't tell you why- seems counterlogical to me). Don't confuse this with a splitfire type plug. My understanding (although limited) is that these type plugs have corrsponding temperature ranges to normal ones, but somehow help the bike burn fuel/air more efficiently. Bosch now makes plugs with 4 electrodes. I don't know, I'd be interested to see what anyone who has tried them thinks....
Anyway, if you need the hot plug, your present plug will either foul or appear black and sooty or wet when you check it.
